View Full Version : Signature How to...

I can get my signature to show text, but its not showing the image I uploaded. The image appears on the edit signature page, but not on the actual signature, or its preview. I've tried linking to the same pic (its pretty small) on photobucket and that didn't work either. Do I need to type in the code under the text to get the pic to show? or should it pop up automatically once I upload to the edit signature page?
Thanks for your help.

I've been wondering this too. I tried to upload my HueHorse a while ago and it uploaded, but wouldn't show. And then, how to get a link around it is beyond me...

On the edit signature page click "insert picture" Once you have a pic uploaded, then you use the link button to add a link when you are done it should look like this (minus the *s)
[*URL="http://www.huehorse.com/clickit.php?affid=9"][*SIGPIC][*/SIGPIC][*/URL]

I'm struggling with this as well....
my sig picture is also sitting there but does not show, i've tried linking it through photobucket as well as from my PC.
Katalyce? You say there is a insert picture option, i've not noticed that anywhere. Is it on the same page that shows the picture you want to put in?

After you upload the picture, there should be a box under the one where you can edit the actual signature. This box has a preview of the image and next to the image it has a link that says "insert signature picture". You click on that link and it will put the [*sigpic][*/sigpic] in your signature. This is how you get the image to show on the forum. Then save your signature.

Its strange, there doesn't seem to be that link to insert the picture, i wonder if its the same for the others or if i'm being my usual computer illiterate self

You can't insert the picture until it is uploaded. Did you upload it already?

Sorry it took me so long to reply I had to switch computers to try to get a screen shot. If you can delete it, the link to insert it in the signature is right above that. If it is not showing a preview, check to be sure the image is smaller than 500x150 pixels or 30KB. If the image is the right size, this is what the page should look like after you upload it.

Ahhhh thats exactly what mine looks like but without the insert sig part above the delete image.
Picture size is within limits 356x150 25.26kb's.
I'll try making it a little smaller....
Thankyou so much for your help, i will get to the bottom of this lol.

Well the other thing to try is to just copy the tags I posted up there and take out the *s. That might work too.

Hahaha, now it tells me Invalid File, it told me that when i tried to upload from photobucket too.
I'm thinking something in my settings must be off somewhere but i can't see what. Frustrating.

I click browse, double click the file I want, click upload, the screen flashes, and the path (which was in the box) is gone. No delete/insert just reset to the original, except with my picture showing in the picture box (but not in the signature)
Would it have anything to do with the signature permissions? Mine says I can up load, but hey, who knows

You are not using the [*SIGPIC][*/SIGPIC] Code you have to use this.

The only setting I can think of that might be messing you up and this is a long shot is "Visible Post Elements." On your control panel under "Edit Options" About halfway down, there is a spot to select "Show Signatures" "Show Avatars" but if you can see my signature here then it should be set to allow them and I don't see why its not working for you. *shrugs* Maybe someone higher up can help?

Cool, that worked...thanks. To center it do I use align="center" ?

Nope you just highlight it and click the image of centered text in the text entry box. Between the underline box and the number list box.

Ok, (sounds like the center align icon on MS word) except I can't find an underline or number list box, just the box where I entered the text. Nothing else in that section of the page (except the scroll bar on the side).

You probably have the wrong editor selected.
User Control Panel > Edit Options scroll down to the Miscellaneous Options
section. You have basic editor turned on you need to turn on standard editor.

Nice server! I'm thinking about getting Opera. How do you like it?

That's called a browser not a server.

I do like it. It takes a little to get used to but its fairly intuitive. Just don't get rid of IE. There are some sites that don't support Opera and only run in Explorer or Firefox.
